The galah sculptures are constructed using old corrugated iron found everywhere around town. The sculptures needed to be reasonably sized so as to have an impact when seen from the road. Each sculpture is around 2m square and is raised 2 or 3 metres from the ground attached to metal poles.
The standing, flying and upside-down sculptures were constructed with 9 separate components. 40 sculptures in all, in the different poses, were cut, assembled, and erected with the local community.
